There are 5 Country Club Communities in Sun Lakes AZ, each with it’s own golf course. Sun Lakes #1, Cottonwood, Palo Verde, Ironwood & Oakwood.

Sun Lakes #1

The first community built, Sun Lakes Country Club opened in 1974. An 18-hole course that features 6 par 4 holes and 12 par 3 holes with 3,571 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 60. The course rating is 58.3 and it has a slope rating of 96 on Bermuda Grass.

Cottonwood / Palo Verde

Cottonwood & Palo Verde Country Clubs share an HOA. Each community has its own 18 hole golf course allowing residents of both communities to enjoy the amenities of each course.

Cottonwood Golf Course

Cottonwood Country Club was the second community built in Sun Lakes. It features the Cottonwood Golf Course which is a Greg Nash design. With four sets of tees available, the course offers a challenge to all golfing levels:

BlackTees, measuring 6570 yards, are for the longer hitter.
Blue Tees, at 6221 yards, are recommended for the scratch to seventeen handicaps.
White Tees, at 5764 yards, are recommended for men and women with a handicap of eighteen and higher.
Gold Tees, measuring 4791 yards, are available for both men and women.

A driving range, chipping green, and putting green are available to players.

Shotguns at Cottonwood Golf Course begin at 8:00 a.m. & 12:30 p.m. – Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturdays (unless otherwise informed by the Pro Shop)

Palo Verde Golf Course

An executive golf course, is also challenging to all golfing levels. It features four par fours, two par fives, and twelve par threes. The Blue Tee Course yardage at 4060 yards is recommended for men. The Red Tee Course measures 3342 yards and is recommended for women. A practice putting green is also available.

IronOaks Golf Courses

Ironwood Country Club was the 4th development in Sun Lakes and Oakwood Country Club was the 5th and final development. They share an HOA. These courses are open to the public. The Oakwood Golf Course opened in 1985.

Ironwood Golf Course Ironwood: (18 holes) 480-895-0614

Ironwood features an 18-hole Championship Golf Course with 5,500 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 67 . The course rating is 64.1 and it has a slope rating of 99 on Bermuda grass. Ironwood Golf Course opened in 1993.

Oakwood Country Club (27-holes) 480-895-1159

The Oakwood Golf Course features three 9-hole par 36 championship golf courses for a total of 27 holes and features all the hallmarks of Arizona Golf. Oakwood (9 holes each): The Lakes, The Sonoran and The Palms
