About Sun Lakes, Arizona
Sun Lakes, Arizona (which shares zip code 85248 with Chandler, Arizona) is located about 20 minutes Southeast of Phoenix and East of Interstate 10. It has consistently ranked in the top 20 Active Adult Communities in the country.
Sun Lakes encompasses 3520 acres developed by EJ Robson beginning in 1972 with manufactured (doublewide) homes. Although these manufactured homes still occupy a small section in the Southwest corner of the community, traditionally constructed homes make up the majority of the community with prices that range from under $100,000 to $850,000.
There are 5 separate country club communities within Sun Lakes, each with it’s own amenities including golf courses, swimming pools, club houses and tennis courts.
The communities were built in the following order:

Sun Lakes #1 ~ The first phase which was started in 1972.

Oakwood (Gated) ~ The final phase which was completed in 2005.
