Sun Lakes Democratic Club will hold the next meeting on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Navajo Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club, 25601 N. Sun Lakes Blvd.
Please join us for our very popular election year review of the ballot measures Arizona voters will decide this November.
RUSS SMITH of our Issues Committee will lead the discussion of the various legislative referenda and citizen initiatives that have qualified for the ballot. Once again the Arizona Advocacy Network will provide the printed information that includes background information for each measure. The different choices on constitutional amendments will cover a variety of topics, including crime victim protection, judicial selection, tax break for businesses, property tax assessed valuation, and land exchanges for military preservation.
Since it’s election season, we may also have a surprise visit from a Democratic candidate or two.
SUN LAKES DEMOCRATIC CLUB IS HAVING ANOTHER CLUB SOCIAL. IT WILL BE A KICKOFF FOR THE CLUB’S FINAL ELECTION EFFORTS. LOCAL CANDIDATES WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES WILL BE DISCUSSED. THE SOCIAL WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 10:30 A.M. TO 2:00 P.M., AT SISK PARK LOCATED AT FLAME TREE AND EAST DRIVE IN PALO VERDE.
Please bring non-perishable food items to the club meetings for the Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank. Collections take place in the west parking lot from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. We also have a box at the North entrance of the Sun Lakes Cactus Corner lobby. At your convenience donations can be dropped off there. Thanks for your generosity. Keep up the good work. July donations collected 319.5 lbs. + $60.00 cash. Total donations collected to date 2,077.5 lbs. + $458.00 cash.
Club meetings are held the second Monday of each month. Everyone is welcome. We encourage you to bring a friend.
