I recently asked my past clients, Dennis & Ruby Knutson from Canada, why they chose Oakwood Country Club in Sun Lakes as the place to purchase their winter home. Here’s their reply~
Why did we choose Sun Lakes (Oakwood)? Let us count the ways……..
- Proximity (but not right beside) major freeways (I10 and 202).
- Proximity to major mall (Chandler Fashion Mall) and Costco (this is Ruby speaking).
- The community in general has excellent “curb appeal”. From the main gate, to the main boulevard, to the well kept green spaces, to each yard and house; all are neat and well maintained.
- A gated, golfing community.
- Stable house prices (relatively).
- Quality clubhouse and common facilities.
- A 40+ community; this is a much better balance of ages than the standard 55+ communities (we previously lived in one of these in Mesa).
- Some rules to make things neat and orderly, but not too many.
- Variety of house styles and practical floor plans.
- One good developer/builder; quality and consistency.
- A newer community (less than 10 years old).
- Last but not least: our realtor (Amy Jones) lives there, so it must be good!
Since we have moved in, all the above items seem to be confirmed. So we haven’t been disappointed in our choice; we would do it again.
